Aluminum Honeycomb Panels
Aluminum honeycomb panels are sandwich composite panels with aluminum alloy panels on the top and bottom, and an aluminum honeycomb core in the middle. They are formed by high-temperature bonding and pressing of the panels and honeycomb core using high-performance structural adhesive. Featuring a biomimetic hexagonal honeycomb structure, they are lightweight, high-strength metal composite panels widely used in container houses, shelters, ships, and curtain walls.

PRODUCT DETAILS
Sheet Material Structure (Three-Layer Structure)
1. Top and Bottom Panels (Thin Aluminum Alloy Sheets): Commonly made of 3003/5052 aluminum alloy, with powder coating or fluorocarbon coating, serving functions of bending resistance, protection, and decoration.
2. Aluminum Honeycomb Core: Aluminum foil stretched to form a continuous hexagonal honeycomb grid, forming the supporting skeleton of the sheet material. Made of thin aluminum foil, it significantly reduces weight.
3. Structural Adhesive Layer: High-strength composite adhesive firmly bonds the aluminum panels and honeycomb core, crucial for the sheet material's strength. Inferior adhesive is prone to delamination.
Production Process
Aluminum foil cutting → Honeycomb core stretching and forming → Honeycomb core cleaning and degreasing → Aluminum alloy panel leveling, grinding, and finishing → Applying structural adhesive → Panel + honeycomb core assembly → Cold/hot pressing curing → Curing → Cutting to length → Edge sealing → Quality inspection and packaging

Core Performance Characteristics
✅ Advantages
1. Lightweight and High Strength: Extremely lightweight, significantly lighter than solid aluminum plates and plywood of the same thickness, yet possesses high bending stiffness, making it resistant to bending and deformation, thus reducing the overall weight of the container.
2. Class A non-combustible fireproof, all-aluminum material, smokeless and non-toxic at high temperatures, meeting the fire safety standards for tooling and modular containers.
3. Waterproof and Corrosion-Resistant: All-aluminum structure, completely waterproof, does not rust or mold in humid or high-salt-spray coastal environments.
4. Sound and Heat Insulation: The closed air layer inside the honeycomb structure provides excellent sound insulation and heat preservation, making it suitable for interior wall panels in container houses.
5. Excellent flatness; large panels do not warp; the surface can be painted in solid colors, wood grain, or stone grain, offering excellent decorative effects.
6. Environmentally friendly and recyclable; contains no wood, no formaldehyde, and the metal materials are 100% recyclable.
⚠ Disadvantages
1. Poor resistance to localized impacts: A strong single-point impact can easily dent the panel; the hollow honeycomb structure cannot withstand concentrated single-point loads.
2. Edge banding is crucial; poor edge banding allows moisture to enter the core, causing delamination and corrosion.
3. High processing requirements; cutting and drilling require specialized tools; screw holding power is weak, and bushings are generally needed for fixing.
4. Relatively high price; the cost is higher than SPC wall panels and ordinary plywood.

Applicable Scenarios
Recommended: Container houses, modular cabin interior wall panels, RV cabins, building curtain walls, interior ceilings, subway tunnels, ship interiors, cleanroom walls.
Key Selection Points
1. Panel Thickness: Minimum 0.5mm for interior decoration; ≥0.8mm thinner sheet recommended for container/outdoor applications.
2. Adhesive and Composite Quality: Break open the sample and observe whether the adhesive layer is full, and whether there is any loose adhesion or detachment of the honeycomb and aluminum panels.
3. Edge Banding Process: Prioritize aluminum profile edge banding for waterproofing and corrosion resistance; simple bare-cut edge banding is not suitable for humid environments.
4. Surface Coating: Fluorocarbon spraying is recommended for outdoor projects for weather resistance and UV resistance; powder coating offers better cost-effectiveness for indoor applications.
Export-Related Tips
1. All-metal material, containing no wood, exempt from EUDR and US Lacey Act timber legality traceability controls, saving significant work on timber traceability for exports to Europe and the US.
2. Testing Items: Fire resistance A1/A2, salt spray test, coating adhesion test. 3. Note: Protect the edges and corners during packing and transportation, as they are easily damaged by bumps and knocks. Corner protectors are required in the packaging.
