Solid Wood Boards
Solid wood boards refer to whole boards made directly from complete natural logs through cutting, drying, sanding, and fine processing. They contain no pressed wood chips, no multi-layered gluing, and no artificial additives; the entire board is made of a single solid wood material, making it the most natural type of wood-based board. It fully retains the natural grain, structure, and physical properties of wood, and is widely used in high-end home decoration, solid wood furniture, interior design, and high-end commercial decoration, distinguishing it from particleboard, plywood, MDF, wood-plastic composite boards, and other artificial composite boards.

PRODUCT DETAILS
Board Structure
Solid wood boards are made entirely of homogeneous, solid logs, without any layers, glue, or fillers, ensuring a uniform material composition:
1. Log Core: The core is made from a single piece of raw wood, retaining natural wood fibers, rays, and grain. Its toughness, breathability, and feel are superior to all other wood-based boards.
2. Finished Surface: After sanding, polishing, and application of paint/wood wax oil, the wood is protected, crack-resistant, and moisture-proof, while retaining the natural feel of solid wood.
Key Differentiation: All engineered wood products are composites produced through secondary processing; only solid wood boards are made from a single, original piece of wood, without glue or pressing composite processes.
Production Process Flow
Log selection → Cutting and sizing → Natural air drying → High-temperature kiln drying and dehumidification (moisture content control) → Four-sided fine planing → Rough and fine sanding → Defect repair and screening → Anti-corrosion and insect-proofing stabilization treatment → Painting/wood wax oil maintenance → Quality inspection and grading → Packaging and warehousing
Core Performance Characteristics
✅ Core Advantages
1. Pure Natural Zero Formaldehyde: No glue, no artificial additives, natural materials, no formaldehyde or benzene release, top-level environmental protection, suitable for mother and baby spaces and high-end home decoration.
2. Top-Tier Texture and Appearance: Unique natural wood grain, warm and smooth wood touch, natural and three-dimensional texture, texture far surpasses all imitation wood composite boards, the first choice for high-end decoration.
3. Superior Physical Properties: High toughness, pressure and bending resistance, extremely strong nail holding power, durable, can last for decades or even hundreds of years with normal maintenance.
4. Repairable and Renovable: Surface scratches and wear can be repeatedly sanded and repainted, becoming more lustrous with use, unlike artificial boards which cannot be repaired or renovated.
5. Good Breathability: Natural wood fiber structure, regulates indoor humidity, breathable and moisture-proof, not prone to mold, high living comfort.
6. High Value Retention: High-quality solid wood panels inherently retain their value. The higher the quality of the material and the rarer the wood species, the higher the cost-effectiveness and value.
⚠ Disadvantages
1. Relatively Weak Stability: Greatly affected by temperature and humidity; prone to cracking in dry environments and swelling, deformation, and warping in humid environments.
2. High Price: Long timber production cycle, significant waste, and high processing costs result in a price far exceeding that of all engineered wood products.
3. Requires Regular Maintenance: Requires regular waxing and oiling; otherwise, it is prone to cracking, discoloration, and mold.
4. Contains Natural Defects: Natural wood inherently contains knots, color variations, and uneven grain, making it impossible to achieve 100% uniformity in the panels.
5. Average Fire Resistance: Pure wood is a combustible material with a fire resistance rating of B2, which does not meet the basic fire safety requirements for public places (A/B1 level).
Common Wood Species and Applicable Scenarios
• Pine: High cost-performance ratio, clean grain, relatively soft texture, suitable for general home decoration, cabinets, bed boards, and simple designs.
• Rubberwood: Moderate hardness, good stability, high cost-performance ratio, mainstream material for solid wood furniture and wall panels.
• Oak (Red and White Oak): Elegant grain, high hardness, wear-resistant, used for high-end flooring, cabinet doors, and feature walls.
• Walnut: High-end texture, warm color, used for high-end light luxury home decoration, custom furniture, and decorative designs.
• Elm/Beech: Hard texture, good toughness, used for traditional solid wood decoration and antique furniture.
Applicable Scenarios
Recommended Scenarios: High-end home decoration, whole-house customization, solid wood furniture, interior feature walls, solid wood flooring, bedroom wall panels, light luxury commercial decoration, high-end interior design for homestays, and interior decorative ceilings.
Prohibited/Not Recommended Scenarios: Damp kitchens and bathrooms, basements, outdoor exposure to direct sunlight, standard interior design for container houses, public places requiring fire safety inspections, and environments with high humidity and large temperature differences.
Key Selection Points
1. Check Moisture Content: For interior decoration, a moisture content of 8%-12% is preferred. Too high a moisture content will lead to mold later, while too low a moisture content will easily cause cracking.
2. Check Board Quality: Choose high-quality logs with few knots, no cracks, no insect holes, no rot, and uniform grain.
3. Check Drying Process: Kiln drying dehumidification treatment is necessary. Naturally air-dried boards have poor stability and are prone to deformation and cracking.
4. Distinguish Between Solid Wood and Veneered Solid Wood: Look for solid wood boards made entirely of the same material to avoid buying imitation solid wood boards with a base material of engineered wood and a solid wood veneer.
5. Choose Wood Species Based on the Setting: Choose rubberwood for more stable interiors; choose oak or walnut for high-end designs.
Export-Related Reminders
1. Solid wood boards are made from pure natural logs. Exports to the EU strictly adhere to the EUDR timber traceability regulations. Exports to the US must comply with the Lacey Act and require proof of tree species and legal traceability documentation of the timber's origin.
2. Mandatory Quarantine for Export: Exported logs and lumber must undergo fumigation/quarantine treatment and provide a phytosanitary certificate to avoid customs detention.
3. Testing Items: Moisture content testing, insect and rot resistance testing, VOC environmental testing.
4. Transportation and Packaging: Solid wood is susceptible to moisture and cracking; export requires moisture-proof film coating, reinforced packaging, and temperature-controlled moisture-proof packaging.
5. Applicable Orders: Suitable for high-end overseas guesthouses, villa renovations, and solid wood furniture exports; not suitable for bulk engineering projects, container houses, or damp commercial projects.
